Snowdonia Challenge 2019

Llanberis, Gwynedd

The 3rd Annual Snowdonia Challenge will see FE Colleges from Wales and England competing in a series of outdoor challenges in and around Llanberis in the heart of the Snowdonia National park.

The format for the event will be two days of competition involving one water based day and one land based day.

The event is managed by a partnership of ColegauCymru, The Outdoor Partnership, Coleg Menai (Grwp Llandrillo Menai), Gwynedd, Conwy and Ynys Mon, local authorities. This partnership extends to include delivery from Canoes Wales, Welsh Cycling and other local businesses and organisations.

Day 1

  • SUP (Stand Up Paddle Board) relay
  • Open Boat (rafted open boats) team endurance challenge
  • Kayak Orienteering
  • Open Water Team Swim (approx. 150m per participant in a sheltered area of the lake)

Day 2

  • Bouldering Challenges (Beacon Centre)
  • MTB Skill course
  • MTB Team time trial
  • Watt Bike Challenge
  • Trail Run

Colleges can register two teams of 5 students per college at a total cost of £100 per college.
