£7.5m skills boost for North Wales

A £7.5m scheme to help over 5,000 workers in North Wales gain new skills and drive forward productivity in the workplace is being announced by Deputy Minister for Science, Innovation and Skills, Lesley Griffiths. Wales-China Skills Exchange Success 

College students and staff are buzzing with new ideas on returning from the first ever China-Wales skills exchange that took place in the fastest growing city in the world: Chongqing, China. The Welsh participants were comprised of ten students from Coleg Gwent, Neath Port Talbot College, Gower College Swansea, Coleg Llandrillo, Yale College Wrexham, Pembrokeshire College.

At a ceremony complete with showcases of students' achievements, the Edge Foundation presented a cheque to Coleg Morgannwg last week for winning the AoC Beacon Award for Practical Teaching and Learning as well as the AoC President's Award for demonstrating outstanding achievement in further education across the UK through its Foundation Degree in Costume Construction for Theatre and Screen. more >>>
