Striking on Pensions Wrong Approach

ColegauCymru / CollegesWales recognises the concerns of college staff on the Government’s proposed pension reforms but regrets that protest will take the form of industrial action.

Chief Executive of ColegauCymru / CollegesWales, John Graystone, said: “The Government’s proposals to reform public sector pensions are likely to affect all college staff, including lecturers. We recognise the concerns of the staff, and note that the TUC is negotiating with the Government on the reform package.

“We regret that the University and College Union has proposed strike action. A strike will disrupt students’ education. That’s the wrong approach.”
