Coleg Llandrillo Cymru has received a Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh at a formal reception at Buckingham Palace. The college was one of only three colleges in the UK, to receive an award. more>>>

Colleges’ ambition: a bilingual workforce

Taking pride in the Welsh language and recognising its benefits in the world of work were the key messages at the first event of its kind for Welsh-speaking vocational students. Organised by a new partnership comprised of further education colleges: Cardiff and Vale College, Coleg Gwent, Bridgend College, together with Welsh language and cultural organisations, the Urdd and Mentrau Iaith, the event followed on from St David’s Day celebrations.  more>>>

Thanks to a flourishing partnership between Coleg Llandrillo Cymru and Rhyl Football Club, Gas Installation and Maintenance students from Coleg Llandrillo Cymru have benefited from real work experience, having newly installed a heating system into the football club’s new social club at Rhyl Football Club's ground. more>>>

Bridgend College and premier league club Swansea City Football Club (FC) has formalised a relationship that has been developing over the last couple of years. Yale College is delighted that former Professional Cookery levels 2 & 3 Learner, 18 year old Luke Thomas, is opening his own 45-seat restaurant this week. more>>>

A former Coleg Llandrillo Cymru Hospitality student, Christopher Owen, was named winner of the National Chef of Wales competition at the Welsh International Culinary Championships, which were held this week at the college for the seventh year in succession. more>>>

Equine student through to winter championships

A Coleg Sir Gâr equine student and her teammates from Cwmaman Riding Club have qualified to compete at the British Riding Clubs’ (BRC) National Winter Championships at Hartbury this April. more>>>

Six Nations line-up

Coleg Sir Gâr student, Rebecca, was named in the starting line-up at the RBS Six Nations match against England in the Wales Women’s squad. more>>>

Student cooks for Wales in UK Finals

16 year old Leo Hacker, a student at Cardiff and Vale College and aspiring chef, has beaten off competition from the length and breadth of Wales to make it to the finals of the prestigious UK FutureChef  finals in London. more>>> 

International Opportunities

Students return from Wales Week, Chongqing, China

With coordination by ColegauCymru's international arm - CollegesWales (UK) International, and funding by the British Council, ten students and three staff from Coleg Powys and Coleg Morgannwg have been in Chongqing to participate in Wales Week 2012. They performed Under Milk Wood and held theatrical workshops for their Chinese counterparts. NPTC Cricket Academy bowled over by South Africa

Students from Neath Port Talbot College Cricket Academy were bowled over on their recent tour of South Africa.
