New Face, New Opportunities for ColegauCymru
ColegauCymru welcomed Greg Walker to the newly created post of Deputy Chief Executive this week.

Until recently, Greg was Deputy Director of Higher Education Wales, part of Universities UK, and prior to that worked within the Welsh Government for a Home Office agency on youth justice matters. Raised in South Wales, Greg was educated in Caerphilly and Cardiff and is due to graduate from Cardiff University later in the year with a PhD.
Hailing the many challenges and opportunities faced by ColegauCymru and further education (FE) colleges as he commenced the new role, Greg Walker said: “It’s an exciting period to work in further education in Wales. College leaders have amply demonstrated their ability to take on pivotal agendas in relation to quality and in transforming the delivery of FE across Wales.
“ColegauCymru has been highly effective in raising the profile and status of further education for the benefit of learners right across Wales. FE has a crucial part to play in meeting Wales’ skills challenge and the need to equip people to get back into employment at this difficult time. I relish the chance to play a leading role in this work.”
Welcoming Greg's apppointment, David Jones, Chair of ColegauCymru, said: “I am delighted to welcome Greg to ColegauCymru. Greg has an impressive track record of working in education and on policy issues relating to young people. He takes on this important role at a time when there are many new opportunities to explore and develop. Greg will work on a range of matters with colleagues, including expanding further education colleges’ international horizons and crucial work on quality enhancement. I very much look forward to working closely with him to meet these challenges.”
