CollegesWales' services to its members

  • organising regular meetings for principals of all Wales' 20 FE colleges/institutions
  • managing policy forums, including the Improving Quality Reducing Bureaucracy Group and the Curriculum, Quality and Performance Group
  • working to further develop Welsh language practices and policies
  • advocating the needs of colleges and their learners to decision-makers through publications, press releases, consultation responses, meetings and events
  • negotiating FE pay with Trade Unions
  • organising seminars and conferences for a range of college managers/staff and governors as well as an annual conference which attracts a wider audience
  • housing the Welsh Further Education Purchasing Consortium(WFEPC), which provides professional procurement services to colleges  
  • delivering professional development courses and seminars on leadership and management for senior college staff 
  • project managing a range of projects on behalf of colleges including: Credit & Qualifications Framework for Wales (CQFW); Financial Capability; Vocational Education and Training (VET) Exchange
  • co-ordinating a wide range of curriculum and functional networks in order to disseminate new developments, share good practice, and identify key issues that require a policy response. Networks are hosted for the following curriculum areas:
