CollegesWales' services to its members
organising regular meetings for principals of all Wales' 20 FE colleges/institutions
managing policy forums, including the
Improving Quality Reducing Bureaucracy Group
and the Curriculum, Quality and Performance Group
working to further develop Welsh language practices and policies
advocating the needs of colleges and their learners to decision-makers through publications, press releases, consultation responses, meetings and events
negotiating FE pay with Trade Unions
organising seminars and conferences for a range of college managers/staff and governors as well as an annual conference which attracts a wider audience
housing the
Welsh Further Education Purchasing Consortium
(WFEPC), which provides professional procurement services to colleges
delivering professional development courses and seminars on leadership and management for senior college staff
project managing a range of projects on behalf of colleges including: Credit & Qualifications Framework for Wales (CQFW); Financial Capability; Vocational Education and Training (VET) Exchange
co-ordinating a wide range of curriculum and functional networks in order to disseminate new developments, share good practice, and identify key issues that require a policy response. Networks are hosted for the following curriculum areas:
