VQ Day: 5 June 2013
VQ Awards are now open for entries!
This year there are two awards:
Learner of the Year and, new for 2013,
Employer of the Year.
The awards celebrate the exceptional achievements of vocational learners, past and present, from across the UK. Panels of industry experts in Wales, England, Northern Ireland and Scotland will judge the nominations, appointing overall winners in each nation – for both the employer and the learner awards.

About VQ Day
VQ Day is a celebration of practical and vocational achievements not only to the individual but to UK plc. From 16 year olds to over 60s, it’s about celebrating new skills, no matter the age, and encouraging parity of esteem between high quality vocational and academic qualifications.
Vocational qualifications have never been more important to the economy and the individual; they deliver the trained, talented employees businesses are crying out for and ensure young people have the skills needed to succeed in education and work. The government is investing in vocational routes acknowledging their value, now we want everyone to come together to recognise how high quality VQs can enhance life and work chances.
VQ Day profiles
A e-book published to coincide with VQ Day 2012 outlines some great success stories - including the VQ Day Award winner, real life 'Billy Elliott' Adam Taylor, 18, from Bridgend, and the five finalists.
